This is the new screen that is going up in our auditorium.
It’s 9ft High by 12 ft wide….and on our stage….freaking HUGE. I can’t wait to see it all in action, but just as exciting as that is the functionality changes.
Before this remodel, we had the stairs on the front of the stage as an entrance, and a staircase on either side of the stage that was hidden by a wing-wall. However, the side stairs have always been an issue since it’s still semi-visible. So when we were looking at making this screen thing happen, we took into consideration that we would be losing 4 ft of usable stage and decided we would remove the wing-walls, cover the stairs, and put two entrances from the back rooms. This gave me the opportunity to change one of those rooms into a green room. which would be a much more desirable feel for Sunday morning. All of those changes are happening too. It’s great.
This remodel has also shown me how nice it is to be surrounded with people who can do stuff that I would not even know where to start on. Construction is NOT my forte.
