This coming Sunday is going to be amazing. It has been the custom at RCC that when people sign up for baptism they are held until we have about ten at a time. This Sunday we have about 18 people signed up for baptism and we have decided to start having baptism as a normal part of the worship service. I think baptism (specifically the video testimony part) is an amazing way to worship and a breath of fresh air. I can’t wait for Sunday, and more than that, I can’t wait for baptisms to be a weekly or bi-weekly part of worship.
I had a great conversation with John Dunahoo today about Grace and the depths of Grace. I can’t even begin to explain how much God has been showing me regarding His grace. But the coolest thing about the conversation was this idea:
Many people will tell you that Grace is a foundational, but elementary understanding of the Gospel. I have to enthusiastically disagree. Grace is the essence of the Gospel. It is not PART of the Gospel, it is the Gospel. We are alive because of GRACE not a deeper understanding of Theology. I love that.
Please don’t misunderstand. I’m am in no way saying that we don’t need to study theology. I am only saying that if one wants to go deep into the understanding of redemption, that understanding Grace is the way to do that.
Thoughts?
I’m just checking in. Jadie had her 8AM class today…..bahahahaha……I mean…. Good for her. Anyway….back to work.

Friday, today is friday. I am exausted.
I spent Monday of this week in a frenzy trying to get everything done for Sunday because of all the event’s that were going on later in the week. So I left the office Monday lacking light programing and a bumper for our side screens.
Tuesday Larry, the Tech Director had the day off so the bumper video didn’t get done. I gave my self to scheduling and programing lights.
Wednesday started out as being a very easy day, but then we realized the rain wasn’t going to let up. Therefore, KidVenture (an UpStreet outing) was changed from a day at the lake to a day at the movies and we turned our auditorium into a movie theater. It was awesome for the kids. Therefore, Wednesday we hustled and finally got done with Sunday Morning as we thought it was going to be.
Thursday brought an event that we new was happening: the Back to School BLOWOUT for Student Ministry. So let me back up. For this event, we brought in a band. The band arrived on Wednesday, so after rehearsal on Wednesday night we cleared the stage and did Load in for PROVIDENCE. So here’s what Thursday looked like:
8AM: Arrive
8:30 AM: Patch the Board
9:00 AM: Kick Drum EQ
9:30 AM: Overhead EQ
10:00 AM: Clean up Auditorium
11:00 AM: Band Arrives
11:15 AM: Sound Check
12:30 PM: Lunch
1:30 PM: Rehearsal
2:15 PM: Kids Arrive (Production break till session) (all except for lights….Dan Bontrager did an awesome job)
4:30 PM: Session 1 (all on the fly)
5:00 PM: Dinner (but I took this time to go see my assistant at the funeral home. (Her dad had just passed away))
6:00 PM: I Eat
7:30 PM: Session 2 (on the fly, but we had a better idea of how this one was supposed to go)
8:30 PM: Break for kids, Production moved the band to the middle of the stage for a concert
9:15 PM: PROVIDENCE CONCERT
10:15 PM: End of event, Production tear down and set up Sunday morning.
12:00AM: Go home.
And then today I woke up at 8ish because Danny called me and then let me go because apparently I can’t articulated words when I just wake up. And yet he didn’t answer when I called him back.
Then I made my way to the office and have been here ever since. I am almost done. I’m just waiting on a meeting I’m supposed to have and figured I’d write. Fun Fun.
More to come.
Oh yeah, In the midst of this entire week, Jadie has been getting ready for her first camping trip ever. I hope she has fun although I’m extremely bummed that I can’t be a part of this first in her life.
ok …..I’m OUT

Ok I know I’m a slacker. I haven’t posted in forever, but here is a list of things I’ve done since my last post.
1. We were working on the screen, and a 1 day job turned into a 4 day job…it was crazy…more pix to come.
2. I got off of work Thursday and drove to Tennessee with a pit stop in Dothan for a new car….that’s right car not SUV….I got a 07 Toyota Matrix…and drove it to Tennessee.
3. I got to my Mom’s house at 3:30 a. m., said hey to Jadie, and took Smokey (My Dog) to bed and that dog woke me up at 7:30 and I couldn’t go to sleep.
4. Jadie and I drove to N.C. to attend my Dad’s retirement party. 33 years as an in Law Enforcement it’s time for a break.
5. Jadie’s family and my family all met at my parent’s house and had lunch…it went great.
6. I drove back to Blountstown on Saturday…that’s right…all of that happened in right around 36 hrs.
7. Sunday was Sunday and after a packed service my small group took a trip to Panama City Beach to see a movie. The Mummy to be exact.
8. Monday and Tuesday was catch up day at work and now I have finally had a chance to sit down.
All of this begs the question…”Was the trip to see Jadie and to go to Dad’s retirement party worth it?”
Answer: YES! Anytime I get to see Jadie it’s worth it.
