It’s getting close to easter. Honestly, a few years ago, Easter began to be one of the most meaningful holiday’s in my life. In fact, it surpasses Christmas. Back when I was younger, my excuse for not being so fanatic about Easter was that we should celebrate every Sunday as big as we celebrate Easter, and therefore, I was not going to make Easter any bigger than any other Sunday. While I still believe some of that has alot of validity, there is just something about Easter Sunday and taking an ENTIRE DAY not just the morning service, thinking about the great price that was paid for the redemption of God’s people for His Renown.
So needless to say, I’m looking forward to easter…

Jon Forman says that the day before his 25th birthday he wrote the song “Twenty-Four“.
Yesterday, I turned 24. All my adult life, I’ve looked forward to certain birthdays. While 25 was one of them (for insurance reasons), 24 was not. I thought it would be as insignificant as 23 was or 22. But today, the day after I turned 24 I find myself very introspective. There is a line in the song “Twenty-Four” that says:
I want to see miracles,
to see the world change
To wrestle the Angel
for more than a name
For more than a feeling
More than a cause
I find myself in those lyrics. Who knew that 24 was such an important milestone? If I live to be 100 years old, my life is almost a quarter over (depressing I know but stick with me). That is 24 years that I will not get to redo. I don’t get to go back and fix all of the mistakes I’ve made, or re-live all of the mountaintop experiences. My only significant pay off is what God has used me to do, only the times I was in it for “more than a name.” As I look back on my last 24 years, I wouldn’t change anything because God has used it to make and mold me for His purpose. I just want to make sure my next 24 will be just as great…”for more than a name”
