This past week we have had Mike Hagen’s Strength Team in Blountstown. A bunch of churches pulled together to make the event’s happen. Jarrod Wester and Delilah M. pretty much coordinated everything from the RiverTown end so that the rest of us could focus on creating a great environment for this Sunday. The event did great. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there was standing room only in the Blountstown High School Auditorium.

Sunday Morning, Clarence, one of the strength team members, did the second installment of PureSex and did a great job. And BTW he’s a big dude.

Worship went great. Kudos to Erik for doing an awesome job his first time leading and Kudos to Sharon for being a great band leader. I got to sit back and play the drums…(everything could have fallen apart and I would have been fine because I was playing drums).

The worship set went very well.

Opener: Your Man – Josh Turner (Derek P. threw down on this song….GREAT Job)

The worship set was:

Broadcast -Erik

Sing Sing Sing – Erik

Take My Life – Sharon

Wednesday night had its share of issues, but the Production team as a whole did a great job in overcoming. I was squirming a little, but after @cameraman20 announced that to the entire twitter world, I calmed down. This week will be fun too. I can’t wait to see the challenges we have ahead.

I’m sitting here with Cameron (Paul’s son) reminiscing about old Passion music. I love that old Tomlin and Crowder stuff. Worship music has changed a lot over the past few years and that’s great. In fact I believe that we are starting to heal the wound that was created when Christians made a big deal about separating our music from the world’s music. The separation of Christian culture and “Secular” culture is one of the most un-biblical ideas that Amercian Christians have ever came up with. We are be a light. We are to make everything better. We should be on the front lines of community activism, environmentalism, and art/creativity. We have failed and are now making our way to being the kind of light that Jesus asks us to be in scripture.

Ok I’m done ranting. It’s amazing what a little reminiscing can do.
